‘It’s the calm before the storm right here. Wait, how was I gonna start this off? I forgot… Oh yeah!’

2017, the year when we finally get to hear Eminem’s bars after such a long while. The Revival Album’s just been released and guess who’s happy…

There is a debate on whether Net Neutrality rules should be adhered to. Whether you are for or against these rules, there is no doubt that this may result in a change of how we use the Internet.

This is the year where ‘Ngoja hadi elections ziishe’ which actually ended in November, so sad, had Kenya go through a buy one get one free election. I never heard of an annulled election until this year’s.

This year has seen the rise and rise of the Bitcoin. Currently, 1 Bitcoin equals 17331.01 US Dollars: with a simple Google search. I’m still waiting for the bubble to burst, but I may wait a long while it seems. The ‘Despacito’ of world currencies seems relentless to live on despite worthy adversaries like gold, but we’ll have to wait and see who wins.

The need for software has risen tremendously. Research on Viusasa. Kenya has shown great strides in the development of custom software that meets Kenyans’ needs. When downloading an application, do you ask yourself: how will this app help me? As a developer. As an end user. The ‘Sell me this Pen’ idea. Supply and Demand. But in Kenya we have the extra ‘chai’ cost you have to account for. It’s engrained in our culture, there’s no denying it. Maybe it will end in 2018. Maybe.

What about Impala Africa? Well, it has been a great year. Hopefully next year will best this one. We are striving to speak less and do more. We have learned that the biggest communication problem is we do not listen to understand; we listen to reply. We have to change this communication flaw. Understand our surroundings and solve Kenyan real time problems.

Here at Impala Africa, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. PEACE!
